Meet Steve
A loving husband of 21 years. A
doting father of five boys. A senior-level information
technology professional with 23 years of problem-solving
experience. A soccer coach and PTO volunteer and
leader. But, if you asked Steve what one
word he would describe himself with, he would say he is,
above everything else, "passionate."
In everything he does, he shows his
passion and commitment. He has worked with the youth
of Gardner, coaching for the Gardner Parks & Recreation Soccer
Club and volunteering for Nike Elementary's Parent-Teacher
Organization, also serving as its past President.
In the professional and political arenas,
Steve has founded and led consulting companies (SCSnet
Solutions) and political action organizations (Hope for
America Coalition). In his capacity as a Republican Party
State Committee member and Precinct Committeeman, Steve has
volunteered in successful candidacies of Bill Sutton (House
District 43), Rob Olson (Senate 23), and John Rubin (House
18), as well as John Toplikar (Johnson County Commission).
Steve was born and raised in Florida, and
went to college at North Central College in Naperville, IL,
just outside of Chicago. There, he met and married
Kathy, his wife of nearly 22 years. Steve and Kathy
have four boys: David (15), Patrick (11), Russell
(9), Christopher (3), and Nathan (1).
Steve is used to fighting against the
"establishment" mentality, and will be passionate about
getting things done for the people of Gardner. He
understands that you have to look at things with an
objective, critical eye, and filter biases and prejudices
(while standing by your own principles) to come up with
solutions that will benefit everyone.
